Named after the Chinese word for "noodle", MIAN brings the authentic flavors of Sichuan-style noodles and traditional dishes to life in four vibrant locations across Southern California. Our menu pays homage to the uniquely delicious and tongue-numbing cuisine of China's Sichuan Province, featuring bold, pungent, and spicy flavors that are celebrated and revered by food enthusiasts.

Chef Tony Xu: A Culinary Visionary

MIAN is the creation of James Beard Award-nominated Chef Tony Xu, who gained culinary fame with his first restaurant, Chengdu Taste, in the San Gabriel Valley in 2013. Following a pivotal review from the late Los Angeles Times restaurant critic Jonathan Gold, Chengdu Taste transformed from a local favorite to a bustling destination for diners. Xu is credited with popularizing and broadening the understanding of Sichuan-style cuisine in Southern California.

MIAN: Authentic Sichuan Cuisine

In 2016, Chef Xu and his team launched MIAN as a more casual offshoot of Chengdu Taste. The first MIAN location opened to critical acclaim, receiving another glowing review from Jonathan Gold and earning a Michelin Bib Gourmand. MIAN continues to offer diners a relaxed yet authentic Sichuan-style dining experience, capturing the essence of the region's bold flavors.
